The SheBelieves initiative originated in 2015 in the lead up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup with the U.S. WNT celebrating women and encouraging the female leaders of tomorrow to unapologetically pursue their dreams, athletic and otherwise.
In the past four years, the SheBelieves initiative has evolved and grown into a special bond between the team and its fans, taking its powerful message of empowerment and that of believing in yourself into communities across the nation.

As one of the most popular women’s teams in the United States, the U.S. WNT is the prime example that dreams are attainable if you set your mind to it and go after what you want. Through dedication, teamwork, perseverance and success, the players in the U.S. team inspire new generations of young girls and women to be better and strive for better. They inspire them to believe.
This is the fourth edition of the SheBelieves Cup, the elite four-team international women’s soccer tournaments in the world. Joining the top-ranked U.S. Women’s National Team in the tournament are Brazil (ranked No. 10), England (No. 4) and Japan (No. 8), all of which are headed to France this summer for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The USA opened the 2019 SheBelieves Cup with a 2-2 draw with Japan on Feb. 27 in Chester, Pa., while England defeated Brazil, 2-1, in the tournament’s first match of the day. With England in first place, the match tonight in Nashville will be an important clash to determine the eventual champion.
