U11-U14 teams claim NJ Youth Soccer state titles
Lawrenceville, NJ (Via NJ Youth Soccer) ― More than 40 top teams competed this weekend for the chance to become victors of their respective age groups in the 2015-2016 NJ Youth Soccer National Championship Series. The event concluded the statewide competition that included hundreds of teams representing the U11 to U14 age groups.
“The National Championship Series is the premier youth soccer tournament in the United States and we were proud to host games featuring such talented young boys and girls. We look forward to seeing these championship teams represent NJ at the regional level,” said Buddy Hart NJYS Games Commissioner.”
The National Championship Series provides approximately 185,000 players on over 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer State Associations the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against elite level competition while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
Rachel Breton, a current Sky Blue FC player and former NJ Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program standout came out to congratulate all of the players on their achievements.
“I have incredible memories growing up and playing in New Jersey Youth Soccer’s State Cup and being part of a team. I can tell the kids today were taking advantage of that same opportunity today and experienced something they will never forget.” said Breton. “It will be fun to look back years from now and see how many players, like me, seized the opportunity and made soccer a key influencer in their life.”
