University of Colorado signs goalkeeper Lindsey Smith on transfer from Memphis

BOULDER — University of Colorado women’s soccer head coach Danny Sanchez announced the signing of transfer goalkeeper Lindsey Smith. Smith will join the Buffaloes in the fall and will be ready for the 2022 season.

Smith, a native of Toledo, Ohio, spent her first two seasons at the University of Memphis without appearing in a match.

Smith landed at Memphis after a four-year career at Saint Ursula Academy in Toledo. The 6-foot keeper earned four varsity letters and was First Team All-Conference and All-District her senior season. Smith helped the Bulldogs to conference titles in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Smith played club soccer with Pacesetter Soccer Club and the Greater Toledo Football Club. She spent seven seasons with PSC and played her final club season with GTFC. PSC won the 2017 and 2018 State Cup, while GTFC won the Cup in 2019.

The addition of Smith adds to CU’s depth at the goalkeeper position, joining incumbents Dani Hansen and Bella Grust.
