University of Florida signs seven ECNL standouts for class of 2022
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida head soccer coach Tony Amato announced his first signing class on National Signing Day.
The seven-member class includes signees from five states located on the east and west coasts who have success with their teams in Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) action.
“We welcome seven who signed their paperwork to officially become Gators. Talent runs throughout this group as they will add strength and depth to Florida’s program,” Amato said. “They not only want success on the field, but are excited about building for their future at a top-5 academic university.”

Njeri Butts of Lawrenceville, Ga., joins the Gators for the fall of 2022. Butts played as an outside back or at attacking midfielder during her five-season career with GSA ECNL, where she was coached by Judson Hamby and Campbell Chapman. She also earned all-state honors playing for Grayson High School. That team was coached by Rebeka Bulloch and Timothy Goodwell.

A goalkeeper from Indian Trail, N.C., Jayden Emmanuel has been a part of Charlotte Soccer Academy’s program for nine seasons where she is coached by Brian Moore. Emmanuel also played two seasons for Sun Valley High School under Kelsie Croal and Austin Knight, earning all-region honors.

Lauren McCloskey is Florida’s second signee from the Peach State as she calls Canton, Ga., home. She played at either defense or forward for United Futbol Academy ECNL. That team reached the 2021 national semifinals and is coached by Iggy Moleka. A member of Blessed Trinity Catholic High School’s 2021 state championship team, McCloskey and the rest of the Titans team was coached by John Jackson.

This defender, Kira Prologo, comes from the same hometown as former Gator McKenzie Barney – Sammamish, Wash. A member of Crossfire Premier SC for a dozen seasons, Prologo is coached by Billy Wiskel. A selection for the upcoming High School All-American game, Prologo was coached by Molly Hill at Eastlake High School.

A forward/midfielder from St. Petersburg, Fla., Erica Roberts earned 2021 ECNL All-Southeast Conference honors in her second season with Tampa Bay United and coached by the late Jim Cote. She played for Indian Rocks Christian School and most recently for Northside Christian High School under the coaching direction of Brooklyn Gant.

She played five seasons with Maryland United ECNL where she was coached by Harry Canellakis. Tutas currently is with Tampa Bay United and coached by Tricia Taliferro. She earned all-state honors while with Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Md., and that team was coached by Ashly Kennedy.
