University of Oklahoma bolsters highly-ranked recruiting class with two more signings
NORMAN – University of Oklahoma head women’s soccer coach Mark Carr announced the addition of incoming freshmen Morganne Eikelbarner and Elle Efremsky to the roster for the 2022 season.
The two join Carr’s highly-touted signing class that was ranked as the No. 11 class in the country per Top Drawer Soccer and first among Big 12 teams.
“To add both Morganne and Elle is really exciting for our program,” Carr said. “They are both ambitious young women and they will both add depth to our front line and the goalkeeping union respectively.”
Eikelbarner hails from Plano, Texas, where she shined in the attacking third. A member of the Olympic Development Program’s Regional and State teams, Eikelbarner, a four-star product via Top Drawer, also played for the FC Dallas ECNL and Solar. A 4.0 student at Plano West, the newest Sooner will have the opportunity to shine in both the classroom and pitch.
“Morganne is an experienced finisher and is lethal in the box,” Carr added. “Having played for Solar and in the Texas conference, I know she understands how to compete and I am looking forward to see how she transitions to the demands of the college game.”
Efremsky arrives in Norman from California, where she excelled in net for Lamorinda SC and Miramonte High School. With Lamorinda SC, she was a member of the All-Northern California Team.
“Elle had a number of great offers at other schools and I am so pleased she chose us,” Carr said. “Throughout the process her love for OU was so energizing. I know she will take full advantage of every opportunity she is given and fight daily to get on the field. She has family here in Oklahoma and I know she is going to give everything to the Crimson and Cream.”
The 2022 signing class now stands at 14, with six from the state of Texas, a pair from Colorado, two from Kansas and one from Oklahoma and California: Marianne Baltmanis, Cassie Clifton, Elle Efremsky, Morganne Eikelbarner, Ellie Geoffroy, Hali Hartman, Zoe McCabe, Hadley Murrell, Michelle Pak, Olivia Ramey, Elizabeth Rapp, Rami Rapp, Chelsea Wagner and Alexis Washington.
