US Club Soccer’s id2 National Selection Girls Team earns big win over Paris FC

PARIS, France – In the opening game of the 2025 id2 National Selection International Tour, the id2 girls team defeated Paris FC’s U-15 academy team, 8-0. It was the first of three opponents the ’11 squad will face in France.
Riley Broad (Real Futbol Academy) started the scoring, finding the back of the net in the 9th minute, assisted by Aubrey Taylor (San Diego Surf). The id2 team continued in its offensive success finding the back of the net in the 15th minute with a goal from Jalisse Padilla (Bay Area Surf), assisted by Brazil Crockett (SoCal Blues), and again in the 20th minute with a goal from Marley Skalski (Western New York Flash), assisted by Michelle Myers (Beach FC). Paris FC had a solid chance to score after a penalty kick was awarded in the 23rd minute, but the shot was saved by id2 goalkeeper Isabella Nguyen (Bay Area FC). The id2 team would score once more before half with a goal from Myers in the 40th minute, assisted by Aubrey Taylor (San Diego Surf). Going into halftime, the score was 4-0.
The Americans would strike again early in the second half. London Woods (XF Academy) scored in the 54th minute, assisted by Mary Cate Leidersdorff (PDA), followed by a goal from Caroline Mortimore (MVLA SC), assisted by Skalski. The final two goals would both come off assists from Mortimore who connected with Skalski in the 63rd minute and Isabella Zhou in the 70th minute. The id2 team tallied 10 shots on goal and four saves in net from goalkeepers Nguyen and Shiloh Deusner (Hoover Vestavia Soccer).
The 2025 id2 National Selection girls team faces three worthy challengers in France, splitting its time between Paris and Lyon:
April 7 vs. Paris FC
April 9 vs. Olympique Lyonnais
April 10 vs. Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas
The matches take the teams to several sites in France, which speaks to the value of cultural immersion on this trip. These clubs offer unique training styles and developmental experiences that the id2 National Selection teams will see first-hand. Cultural immersion isn’t limited to matches and training sessions, though; the American delegation will also attend professional men’s and women’s games and tour professional training grounds in Paris and Lyon.
The 2025 id2 National Selection International Tour (girls) officially began April 2 with a two-day domestic camp in Chicago before traveling to Paris for the first half of the French stay and then Lyon for the remainder. The tour, which concludes April 12, represents the final progression of the current id2 age group cycle targeting players born in 2011.
The id2 Program is a leader in player identification and development, as it provides opportunities for elite athletes to be identified, developed and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s youth national team programming. The id2 Program is an Olympic Development Program approved by the United States Olympic Committee and the U.S. Soccer Federation.
There is no cost for players to participate or be scouted, and all meals, lodging and gear are provided by US Club Soccer and Nike. For the international tour, all travel costs are also covered by US Club Soccer. This approach to eliminating barriers to entry helps ensure the best players are able to participate.
