DENVER, Colorado – Two dozen teams were awarded championships at the National Cup XXII Finals, held at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado, July 15-22. Boys teams played July 15-19, while the girls teams competed July 18-22.

The National Cup is US Club Soccer’s longest-running competition, celebrating its 22nd edition this summer. The Finals is the culminating event of a cup-based championship series that includes qualifying state cups and National Cup Regionals.

More than 2,500 teams competed in this year’s series, including 240 U-13 through U-19 boys and girls teams at the National Cup Finals. The tournament field, which included teams from 22 states, provided a developmentally stimulating environment with geographical diversity, contrasting styles and championship pressure. Winning teams endured three group stage games, before advancing to semifinal and final rounds.

On the girls side, Hawaii Rush was the big winner, going a perfect 3-0 on championship day to win the U-13 Super Group, U-15 Super Group and U-16 Super Group. Eden Prairie SC, North Oaks SC, Sporting California USA (competed as Murrieta Soccer Academy last year) and St. Louis Scott Gallagher all repeated as champions after winning the U-19 Premier Group, U-17 Super Group, U-16 Super Group and U-13 Premier Group, respectively, last year.

On the boys side, two clubs repeated as champions: West Side Alliance SC and STA. West Side Alliance fielded two teams in the U-19 age group – one Super Group (most competitive) and Premier Group – with both triumphing. For STA, that makes a three-peat after winning the U-16 Super Group in 2021, the U-19 Super Group in 2022 and then this year’s U-14 Super Group.

The title winners qualified from a diverse array of events – 14 in total. The leading qualifying events were the National Cup XXII Midwest Regional, the National Cup XXI South Central Regional and the Hawaii State Cup, which each produced three Finals champions.
