US Youth Soccer announces two additions to Texas-based Frontier Development League

FRISCO, Texas — The US Youth Soccer National League is welcoming two new clubs — BVB International Academy Texas and Renegades SC — to the Frontier Development League (FDL). Both clubs will begin competing in the FDL in the 2023-24 season.

The FDL serves as the girls’ club-based division within the Frontier Conference, which is one of the 13 Conferences within the National League. As a club-based division, the FDL provides teams with opportunities to compete for berths into the USYS National Championship Series, as well as the following season’s National League Conference Playoffs. Both advancement opportunities allow teams to move up the pathway toward the USYS National Championships.

“We are thrilled to welcome both BVB International Academy Texas and Renegades SC into the Frontier Development League,” said Matt Dellaria, League Manager for the Frontier Conference. “Both clubs have shown a tremendous commitment to developing players both on and off the field, and everyone in the FDL is excited for the level of competition that they will bring into the league.”

Club-based divisions within the National League Conferences, such as the FDL, also serve as a primary evaluation criteria for future club additions to Elite 64 — the National League’s elite national club-based competition platform.

Clubs competing in the FDL for the 2023-24 season will include: BVB IA Texas, DKSC, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo Dash YSC, Lonestar SC, Renegades SC and Solar SC.

“We are extremely excited to be a part of the Frontier Development League,” said Audrey Gutierrez, Girls Academy Director for BVB IA Texas. “The league offers top competition, not only locally, but regionally and nationally. This type of exposure is exciting for our club and our elite players.”

“Renegades Soccer Club is extremely excited to be accepted into the Frontier Development League for our girls’ program,” said Glen Waudby, Renegades Executive Director of Coaching & Operations. “Being able to offer an advanced platform within USYS with Conference Playoffs and Regionals is a great opportunity for our players and coaches, and we look forward to creating new relationships with the member clubs.”
