Highlights from Day 6:
2000/2001s | West 2, South 2
West came back from behind twice to finish the game level, 2-2, with South. Shea Bonacci started the scoring for South in just the 15th minute of play but West battled back and Grace Terrill scored at the end of the half to level the teams at 1-1 going into halftime. Rammie Noel scored for the South nine minutes into the second half to regain the lead but West once again tied the score when Annette Greenley pounced on a loose ball in the box and smashed her chance in from close range. Each team had great chances late to win the game but the keepers were up to the task. West’s Haven Empey made a nice tip save on a low shot and then South’s Kate Devine tipped a rocket of a shot from Aleah Treiterer over the crossbar.
2000/2001s | East 1, Midwest 2
Midwest earned a goal in the last minute of play to earn a 2-1 victory over East. Midwest earned itself a finish at the top of the group by going undefeated through all three games. East’s Phoebe Canoles put her team up in just the fifth minute of play. East almost added another goal late in the first half but Elaina LaMacchia made a huge save to push an attempt wide. Midwest used that momentum to work the ball quickly down the field and Madison Rennie scored with just five minutes remaining in the first half. Midwest’s Kristin Boos almost gave her team the lead right before halftime but Michaela Easter made the save after Boos was able to muscle by her defender. It looked like the game would finish level but Midwest’s Amanda Cassidy scored in the last minute of play to snatch the victory for her team.
2002s | East 0, Midwest 0
East and Midwest played to a 0-0 tie in their final game at the 2017 ODP Girls Interregional. The tie earned East the top spot in the age group as they finished undefeated with seven points. Midwest played another game of fierce defense and finished with only one goal against through the three games. East’s Chloe DeLyser, while not scoring in this game, finishes as the age group’s top goal scorer. DeLysers three goals came as a hat trick against the West in the second game.
2002s | West 1, South 1
Two second half goals in two minutes was all the scoring found between West and South. South got close in the first half nearly scoring off a Tori Paul cross. Paul’s cross was whipped in from the left side but was headed just wide. West’s Isabella Mendoza came up clutch late in the first half by saving an Abigail Brighton chance. Mendoza got just enough of a hand on the attempt to float the ball into the post for the save. Olivia Simpson gave South the lead in the 67th minute but just a minute later West’s Acacia Vanlandingham notched her second goal of the event to level the score.
