US Youth Soccer ODP Region II Showcase kicks off Thursday

FRISCO, Texas (Via US Youth Soccer) — The schedule and field of teams are set for the 2015 US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Region II Showcase, which will be played July 9-12 at Sportscore One and Sportscore Two complexes in Rockford, Ill. The US Youth Soccer ODP Region II Showcase will feature Boys and Girls teams in the 1998 through 2002 age groups.

Teams will play preliminary games Thursday, July 9 through Saturday, July 11. Consolation and final matches will take place Sunday, July 12.

Winners of the 1999 and 2000 age groups will advance to the 2016 US Youth Soccer ODP Championships to compete against representative US Youth Soccer State ODP teams from Regions I, III and IV.

The Region II Showcase benefits players by allowing them the opportunity to be identified as Region II Pool Players for the subsequent year, giving them the chance to expose their talents to some of the country’s top college coaches, and by providing them an opportunity to earn the right to represent Region II at the 2016 US Youth Soccer ODP Championships (1999 and 2000 age groups). Select Boys and Girls players in the 1998 through 2002 age groups will also be further identified and selected by Region II coaching staff to attend the 2015 US Youth Soccer ODP Region II ID Camps held July 12–16 at Sportscore Two in Rockford, Ill.

Players try out for the high-level US Youth Soccer ODP through a series of trials at their US Youth Soccer State Association.
