FRISCO, Texas (Via US Youth Soccer) — US Youth Soccer, the largest youth sports organization in the United States, and the largest member of U.S. Soccer Federation, today announced plans to bring an unprecedented, U.S. Soccer Presidential Candidate Forum to its youth soccer membership.

This forum will feature questions produced by US Youth Soccer’s 55 member State Associations who will take part in the live audience. JP Dellacamera, one of the pioneering voices of American soccer, and whose broadcasting career spans 30 years, will moderate the two-hour forum and pose follow-up questions of the candidates.

The forum will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott Grand Ballroom G-H in Philadelphia on January 20, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. ET, and will be streamed live on USYouthSoccer.org and Facebook Live.

Eight presidential hopefuls for the U.S. Soccer presidency have all agreed to participate:

-Hope Solo
-Kyle Martino
-Steve Gans
-Kathy Carter
-Michael Winograd
-Eric Wynalda
-Paul Caligiuri
-Carlos Cordeiro

“With less than a month left before the all-important U.S. Soccer presidential election, this candidate forum is a crucial part of the vetting process,” said Christopher Moore, US Youth Soccer CEO. “We are thrilled that the eight presidential contenders have all agreed to answer questions from US Youth Soccer State Association members, and that JP Dellacamera has graciously agreed to moderate the session.”

The forum will be divided into eight timed segments of approximately 15 minutes, with each candidate giving an opening and closing statement, and responding to several questions from US Youth Soccer members on the current state of youth soccer in America, and the candidates’ vision for growing the youth side of the game.

While representatives from the national and soccer media are certainly welcome to attend the event, reporters will not be permitted to ask questions of the candidates during the live forum discussions. However, we will provide a separate room where candidates can conduct media interviews should they choose to do so.
