USC unveils nine-player signing class loaded with youth national team talent

LOS ANGELES – The USC women’s soccer program will be welcoming nine new faces when the 2023 season starts in August, with head coach Jane Alukonis bringing in six freshmen and three transfers.

The class has a decidedly international flair, with players hailing from five different countries, and is loaded with national team experience as six different players have seen time in their respective youth national team systems.

Here’s a look at the 2023 class…

TRANSFERS

Kayla Duran | 5’10” | Defender/Midfielder

Hometown: Woburn, Mass.
Previous Schools: Brown/Boston College

Highlights:

  • 2022 All-America third team
  • 2021 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year
  • 2x All-Ivy League first team
  • 2x All-Region first team
  • 2018 ACC All-Freshman Team

Hannah Griffin | 5″6″ | Midfielder/Forward

Hometown: Schuttrange, Luxembourg
Previous School: Harvard

Highlights:

  • 2022 All-Ivy League honorable mention
  • 6 Goals, 7 Assists in 30 games and 20 starts at Harvard
  • Helped Harvard to the 2nd round of 2022 NCAA Tournament
  • Competed for the U19 English National Team

Keely Roy | 5’5″ | Forward/Midfielder

Hometown: Sebastpol, Calif.

  • Led Cal and was 3rd in the Pac-12 with 11 goals
  • Finished 7th in the Pac-12 with 24 total points

Florianne Jourde | 5’4″ | Midfielder/Forward
