(Via VSA) – Virginia Soccer Association has hired Kelsey Pardue as the club’s new Girls Director of Player Development. Pardue will be responsible for organizing and implementing all competitive soccer programs for our VSA girls between the ages of U8-U10.

“This is a really exciting hire for the club. After a national search which saw over 70 candidates apply we were able to find someone who shared our values but also has a tremendous pedigree as a player and coach. She is a strong character and has good leadership skills that we look forward to adding to our club and overall vision moving forward” commented Matt Lacey, Executive Director.

Pardue served as the assistant coach at St. Bonaventure University and more recently coached at the club level for Bethesda Soccer Club and Richmond Kickers (NPL teams) and assisted with the Richmond United ECNL girls’ teams.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of such a great organization and I am looking forward to working within a soccer community that is driven and passionate about everything that they do,” Pardue said. “My goal will be to inspire each player while putting an emphasis on developing the tools they will need to be successful on and off the field. I’m excited for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”

As a player, Pardue played for Washington Spirit for two years. Prior to her stint as a professional, Pardue played at Longwood University, starting all career games, and her 31 points (accumulated by goals and assists) since 2011 are the most by any Lancer. Playing for Hermitage High School, Kelsey was a three-time All-District and All-Region player, having led her team in scoring for three straight years.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring Kelsey to VSA as the Girls Director of Player Development.” Said Director of Coaching, Dale Parker. “Kelsey brings a huge amount of value as a role model, leader and one of the most talented young coaches in the state. I am looking forward to seeing our younger girls improve and develop under Kelsey’s guidance.”

On the field, Pardue will lead VSA’s Girls Jr Academy Program (U8-U10) while coaching our 2010 and 2009 Girls age groups for the 2018-19 season.
