WAGS: Weather could factor into schedule this weekend
By Jimmy LaRoue
The Washington Area Girls Soccer League has Sunday games on its schedule, but those could be impacted by Hurricane Sandy, which is moving slowly up the Atlantic seaboard.
In the U-13 Division 1, VYS Patriots Black (7-1-1) can clinch first place for the fall season with a win over NVSC Jr. Majestics 99 at Hellwig Park. Freestate North Red (5-0-3) off this week, needs for VYS Patriots Black to lose, and then win its next two games scheduled for the following weekend.
The U-14 Division 1 race is tight, with four teams separated by three points. ASA Azzurri (6-0-1) leads by a single point over VYS Thunder Black (6-2-0), and by three points over TSC SIAFU (5-2-1) and SAC Premier Blue (4-0-4). ASA Azzurri is scheduled to play SAC Premier Blue, while TSC SIAFU is scheduled to face Reston United 98.
