Washington State signs forward Isabella Weaver on transfer

PULLMAN, Wash. – Bolstering the roster for the upcoming 2021 season, Washington State soccer head coach Todd Shulenberger announced the addition of another familiar face, with the transfer of Isabella Weaver (University Place, Wash.). Weaver comes to the Cougs after two years at Tacoma Community College (TCC).

“We are super excited to be adding Isabella Weaver to our team,” said Shulenberger. “Isabella is a gifted athlete who is very dangerous on the run and brings us a ton of positional options for her. I am so excited to watch her grow in our competitive environment.”

A junior academically with three years to play on the field, Weaver led the Titans to the Northwest Athletic Conference championships as a freshman in her lone full season as TCC went 15-6-3 on the year. The tip of the spear in the Titans’ attack, Weaver was at her best scoring a team-high 15 goals recording four multi-goal games during the campaign. Her 15 goals ranked third in the conference and earned her a spot on the NWAC South-West region All-Star team. The Titans played a limited schedule in 2021 due to Covid-19 protocols.

Coug fans will immediately recognize Weaver on the field as the younger sister of all-time great Morgan Weaver, who led WSU to the College Cup in 2019 after earning all-america honors. The elder Weaver became the No. 2 overall pick in the NWSL draft in 2020 and now plays professionally for the Portland Thorns.
