WAGS: This week’s ‘first’ look

The Washington Area Girls Soccer League continued this weekend, with top teams starting to separate themselves from the pack.

Most age groups were in action, and here are the current and last week’s first-place teams from Under-12 through U-19 after play May 12-13 (records reflect the standings for that particular week):

U-12 Division 1

Bethesda Academy Blue remains undefeated and atop U-12 Division 1 after a 3-1 win over ASC Premier 99.

U-12 Division 2

LMVS Patriots Red continues its hold on the top spot, while SYC Storm White (6-0-2) and Waldorf Fire (4-0-3) are close behind and have yet to lose a game this season.

U-12 Division 3

SYA Synergy Red lost its first game of the season, and went 0-1-1 on the weekend. Meanwhile, WSC CASA 99 has moved into a first place tie, while Freedom Red (4-2-1) and McLean Green (3-1-2) are close behind.

U-12 Division 4

There’s a new leader in Division 4, with Crofton Ponies moving back into the top spot, while MSC Thunder (4-1-1) is close behind, as well as SYC Storm Blue (4-2-0).

U-12 Division 5B

MSC Academy Black didn’t play this weekend and remain atop Division 5B, but NVSC Jr. Majestics 99 Blue (7-1-0) picked up a win and are nipping at MSC’s heels, and HSC Freedom 99 have yet to lose (4-0-1).

U-12 Division 5C 

Olney Galaxy, with a win and tie, remain atop Division 5C, though BAC United (3-0-1) and Freedom-White (4-1-0) are close behind.

U-12 Division 5D

In an early season showdown of division leaders, SYA Synergy White capped off its weekend with a 2-0 win Sunday over VISTA LFC Tornado Blue to take over the top spot in Division 5D. SYA also scored a 3-0 win Saturday over MSC Academy White.

U-13 Division 1

ASA Azzurri remains atop Division 1, with VYS Thunder Black (3-1-2) close behind.

U-13 Division 2

Reston United 98 takes over the top spot, but two teams–Bays Blues (3-1-2) and NVSC Jr. Majestics 98 (2-1-4)–are not far behind.

U-13 Division 3

With a 1-0 win over ODFC Lightning, CSC Patuxent Speed remains atop Division 3, though WSC CASA 98, at 4-0-2, is not far behind.

U-13 Division 4 Green

Herndon Pegasus and MSC Stallions are tied for the top spot in the division, with SAC United I (4-0-3) close behind.

U-13 Division 4 White

Alexandria Revolution White remains in first place in Division 4 White, but DSC Flames is close behind at 5-1-0, and Potomac Red (3-0-2) is still without a loss.

Chantilly Phoenix split its two games this past weekend, but remains in first place in the division.

SSA Magic picked up a win this weekend and remains atop Division 5M.

Despite its first two losses of the season, EPIC Blizzard remains in first place in Division 5R, though Reston Elite 98 (4-1-2) are closing in on the top spot.

SAC United has given up just one goal in five matches while scoring 25. MYS Breakers also has given up just a single goal while scoring 24.
