Xavier to welcome 10 women’s soccer recruits to Cincinnati in 2023

CINCINNATI – Xavier women’s soccer announced its Fall 2022 signing class, which will add 10 new Musketeers to the roster for the 2023 season.

See below for a look at each member of Xavier’s incoming group of recruits.

Olivia Baca

Olivia Baca is a forward from Edwardsville, Illinois, where she attends Edwardsville High School.

Baca is a three-year member of the varsity team at Edwardsville where she plays in the Southwestern Conference. As a junior, Baca finished with 25 goals and six assists for 56 points, leading the team in goals, points and game-winning goals (5) and was named an All-Sectional performer by the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Baca plans to pursue a pre-med track at Xavier. She is the daughter of Amy Cotton and Brian Baca and has two siblings, Nolan and Sylvia.

Kennedy Clark

Kennedy Clark is a midfielder from Crestview Hills, Kentucky, who attends Notre Dame Academy.

At Notre Dame, Clark was a part of the 2021 KHSAA State Championship team that finished at 29-0-1, scoring 14 goals with 13 assists that season and earning a spot on the All-State Tournament Team. In club action, Clark won the Girls Academy U16 National Championship with Cincinnati United.

Clark plans on majoring in Biology at Xavier. She is the daughter of Matthew and Stacey Arnzen, and has one sibling, Noah. Her father played collegiate soccer at Wittenberg.

Mallory Connealy

Mallory Connealy is a forward from Omaha, Nebraska, where she attends Marian High School.

At Marian, Connealy is a four-time member of the varsity squad, earning captain as a senior. She was a two-time state-finalist for a team that has won 27 games in two complete seasons so far in her career. She also plays club for Gretna Elite Academy.

Connealy plans on majoring in Political Science with a pre-law track at Xavier. She is the daughter of Dan and Tovah Connealy, and has four siblings, Caden, Nolan, Audrey and Ryleigh.

Mia Fiore

Mia Fiore is an outside back from Cincinnati, where she attends Indian Hill High School.

At Indian Hill, Fiore earned Most Valuable Offensive Player, and was selected as First Team All-Southwest, as a Cincinnati Enquirer Player to Watch, and well as a CHL Scholar Athlete. She also plays basketball and is a member of the track team at Indian Hill. She played club in the ECNL with Kings Hammer Academy.

Fiore plans on majoring in Exercise Science at Xavier. She is the daughter of Kristina Fiore.

Tyler Kaseta

Tyler Kaseta is defender from Marietta, Georgia, where she attends Blessed Trinity Catholic High School.

Kaseta was a four-year member of the varsity team at Blessed Trinity, earning captain as well the Defensive Player Award. She plays club for Concorde Fire SC, helping the team earn top-five rankings in the past five years, as well as several regional championships, advancing to the 2022 Girls ECNL National Championships. Kaseta is also a four-year member of the varsity basketball team at Blessed Trinity.

Kaseta plans on majoring in Business at Xavier. She is the daughter of Kevin and Dianne Kaseta, and has two siblings, Garrison and McKensey. Her father played basketball collegiately at Detroit, as well as professionally abroad. Her sister, McKensey, plays golf at Washington University in St. Louis.

Peyton Kohls

Peyton Kohls is a forward/midfielder from Loveland, Ohio, who attends Mount Notre Dame.

Kohls played four years of varsity for Mount Notre Dame, totaling 148 career points on 60 goals and 28 assists. She helped MND to the 2021 Ohio Division 1 State Championship, with a record of 21-0-1 for the season, earning USC All-American, Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year and Ohios Division 1 Player of the Year honors for the season. She plays club soccer with Cincinnati United Premier, and was a 2021 USYS Nationals Best XI GA Mid-America Talent ID Invitee.

Kohls plans on majoring in exercise science at Xavier. She is the daughter of Douglas and Aly Kohls and has one sibling, Sydney. Her mother was a member of the swim program at Syracuse.

Brooklynn Miltenberger

Brooklynn Miltenberger is a center back from Middletown, Ohio, where she attends Monroe High School.

Miltenberger played four years of varsity at Monroe, where she earned Rookie of the Year honors, and newcomer of the year for SWBL. She also earned All-State and All-Region honors during her career. She played club for Ohio Elite, helping the team to the ECNL Semifinals during her sophomore year. She also plays club basketball for the Dayton Lady Hoopstars.

Miltenberger plans on majoring in Exercise Science at Xavier. She is the daughter of Lisa and Richard Miltenberger and has two brothers, Brylan and Brenden.

Maddy Sands

Maddy Sands is a defender from Reading, Ohio, where she attends Mount Notre Dame. She has experience playing club for Cincinnati United Premier as well as the Cincinnati Development Academy.

With CUP, Sands was part of the 2020-21 team that went 33-0-6, winning the U16 Girls Academy National Championship, as well as five-consecutive USYS Ohio South State Cups with CUP North. With the Cincinnati Development Academy, she helped the team to 53 wins between 2018 and 2020. She’s earned invites to the Girls Academy National Talent ID clinic, Girls Academy Mid-America Talent ID clinic, and the USYNT Regional Camp.

Sands is the daughter of Shane Sands and has three siblings, Hanna, Ally and Jaxson.

Reese Slater

Reese Slater is a midfielder from Northville, Michigan, where she attends Northville High School and plays club for the Michigan Hawks.

With the Hawks, Slater was part of the squad that was ECNL National Championship qualifiers six times, making the ECNL National Championships Elite Eight in 2020. She was also selected for the National Identification Center. At Northville, Slater is also a four-year member of the varsity track and field team, earning all-district and all-region honors and qualifying for state.

Slater is the daughter of Timothy and Kristen Slater, and has four siblings, Morgan, Zac, Elle and Thomas. Her father played baseball at North Florida.

Taylor Thomas

Taylor Thomas is a goalkeeper from Powell, Ohio where she attends Olentangy Liberty High School.

She was a four-year varsity team member at Liberty, with 23 career shutouts, helping the team to the Ohio Capital Conference and District Championships in 2021, finishing as Regional Finalists that season. The team was also district finalists in 2020 and 2022. Thomas was a three-time team captain and two-time team MVP, earned First Team All-Conference and All-District, and also earned Second-Team All-State, as well as the Senior Excellence award from United Soccer Coaches.

Thomas plans on majoring in Biology at Xavier. She is the daughter of Alan and Rebecca Thomas, and has one sibling, Ava.
