(Via Chicago Rush) – Chicago Rush, the newest Rush Soccer affiliate club, has kicked off its inaugural season with one team competing in the Illinois Youth Soccer Association premiership division.

The team consists of 2002 and 2003 boys, and is the first to represent the Chicago Rush Soccer Club. The team is coached by the new Director of Coaching, John Thurow who comes with a vast amount of soccer experience.

“I have been coaching youth soccer in the Naperville area for many years, and played against other Rush organizations, and always respected and admired them,” Thurow said. “To now be part of the Rush entity is a huge benefit for me and the area, and I look forward to the challenges and quality Rush attracts.”

As Chicago Rush looks to make an impact into the Chicago land market, it will be looking to host tryouts in numerous locations, and work with some current clubs that the Chicago Rush Technical Director, Michael Cockroft already has relationships with.

The Chicago soccer market is one of the top 10 in the country, and now is an excellent time to build these relationships and give players a chance to compete locally, regionally and nationally at all different levels of competition.

“I’ve been around the Chicago soccer environment for 10 years and coached some very talented players. I’m looking forward to now connecting quality and dedicated players to a recognized national brand, and give them the best soccer development opportunity Chicago Rush and the Rush brand can offer,” said Cockroft.
