D.C. United Academy player Eryk Williamson commits to Maryland
[player_box id=43440 leftright=right]D.C. United Academy and U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team forward Eryk Williamson has verbally committed to play college soccer at the University of Maryland starting in Fall 2015. Williamson made the announcement Jan. 25 on Twitter.
Williamson leads the D.C. United U-17/18 Academy team in goals with 10, and has helped the team to second place in the Atlantic Division behind only New York Red Bulls. He is currently a senior at T.C. Williams High School and played travel soccer for Arlington SA prior to joining D.C. United.
[player_box id=49283 leftright=right]U.S. U-17 National Team forward/midfielder Keegan Kelly, who helped Baltimore Celtic 97/98 win a US Youth Soccer National Championship in 2014, plans to join Williamson at Maryland in 2016. Williamson will likely be called upon as one of the top playmakers in Sasho Cirovski‘s offense in 2015, and in 2016 he and Kelly will immediately be among the most talented offensive tandems in the nation.
*UPDATE (Feb. 4, 2015): On National Signing Day, Williamson’s D.C. United Academy teammates Daniel Reeves and Jorge Calix signed their National Letters of Intent to play for Maryland in 2015. +Read More
