Pipeline SC signs Lee Tschantret as Technical Director

(Via Pipeline SC) – Pipeline Soccer Club has announced that Lee Tschantret will be the PSC Technical Director and oversee all coaching staff and team development beginning in the upcoming fall season. Tschantret will also be added to the Club’s Board of Directors as of July 1, 2015.

Tschantret has a professional player resume to rival the best and PSC is thrilled to add another leader to its “for players, by players” organization. He was the Captain of the US National Futsal Team, a CONCACAF Gold Medal Winner and Futsal World Cup player. He competed and captained in the 2007 Pan Am Olympic Games with the US National Futsal Team. He has been playing professional soccer, indoor and outdoor, for over 20 years. He has played professionally in both Italy and Greece. He has won 4 Indoor Soccer Championships and he is the 14th player in MISL history to have scored over 1000 points. He was also an All Star and voted to the All-League Team in the A-league as a professional outdoor player.

As a coach, Tschantret is unequivocally qualified at the highest level. He holds a USSF Coach “A” license and a Masters Degree in Coaching. He has traveled to Europe to study and learn from Academy coaches in England and Italy and maintains strong coaching relationships throughout Europe. Currently, he is Head Varsity Soccer Coach and a Physical Education teacher for Loyola Blakefield high school. Tschantret was twice named “Coach of the Year” after Loyola won the MIAA “A” championship in both 2012 and 2014.

Tschantret’s understanding of the inner-workings of a soccer club is invaluable and comes from direct experience. He created and built Pro Soccer Academy Futbol Club (PSAFC) from the ground up, four years ago. It is his intention to merge the best of PSAFC with Pipeline. Tschantret’s mission in club soccer is to provide top-level training and development of athletes on a mental and physical level; producing confident players that maximize their full athletic potential. He emphasizes the values of hard work, mental preparation, character and integrity on and off the field, while promoting a life-long passion for the game of soccer.

PSC members are pleased with the new addition to the Club. “I’m very excited to be able to have someone of Lee’s caliber oversee all team development beginning in the fall of 2015”, said Pipeline President Sean Rush. “Lee and I have gotten to know each other over the past few years and his knowledge of the game, professionalism with teams, and his overall philosophy of what this area deserves, align perfectly with Pipeline. He will be an excellent leader and mentor towards the coaching staff”, added Rush.

“Lee built and created his own club which really goes a long way when you are dealing with the inner workings of an organization” said Vice President Santino Quaranta. “He will be adding an excellent staff of coaches to our already great line up, which will allow every team in the club access to the areas’ top coaches” added Quaranta.

The day-to-day elements of the job appeal to Tschantret: “I’m looking forwarded to assisting the coaches and helping to develop a soccer curriculum that will teach our players how to play the game of soccer and be successful both on and off the field.”

He strongly feels the merger of the two clubs will raise the level of soccer in the Baltimore area: “Both of these clubs have incredible assets, in terms of resources, caliber of coaches and players, and organizational strength. Bringing together the best of both clubs will create a great positive atmosphere for the soccer players in the area to grow. We will be able to accomplish more for soccer together, than either club could on their own.”

Tschantret further believes that this move is good for Baltimore soccer overall: “Pipeline will be equipped to take Baltimore club soccer to the highest level of competition on both the national and international stage. I am excited to see all the possibilities come to fruition over the next few years.”

Pipeline Soccer Club was founded in 2011 by Rush, Quaranta, and others interested in forming a soccer club for youth based on professionalism and the highest standards of teaching the game. The club started with just three teams that spring. The following fall season, the club formed a total of 21 teams. As of July 2014, the club has 43 teams consisting of boys and girls, ages 7 to 18. This is in addition to Pipeline’s Tykers and Academies for players 4-10 years of age.
