Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers defend Women’s World Cup, call out sportswriter Andy Benoit [Video]
On Wednesday night, Saturday Night Live (SNL) alums Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers reunited for their popular “Weekend Update” segment “Really!?!” on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
After Sports Illustrated writer Andy Benoit tweeted that women’s soccer and women’s sports in general aren’t worth watching, the comedic duo went after Benoit and his misogynistic attitude.
During the segment, Poehler also questions why the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup is often broadcast on secondary TV channels. Meyers concludes with a plea to Americans to watch the U.S. take on China Friday evening, which will air on the FOX Network. We couldn’t agree with these two more!
