OMG! What a Goal! Altidore scores game winner to clinch Dutch Cup, continues hot streak with 31 goals [Video Highlights]
American international and AZ Alkmaar striker Jozy Altidore scored the game winning goal in the 14th minute against PSV Eindhoven on Thursday night to give his club a 2-1 victory and its first Dutch Cup title in 31 years.
The goal was Altidore’s 31st of the season (all competitions), a record for most goals by an American in a European club season. He had 23 goals in league competition this season.
Altidore received a beautiful through ball from midfield, cut it back once he was in the box, and calmly slotted it past the Eindhoven goalkeeper.
The big striker has proven to everyone he’s in top form for his club, so now the only question for Americans is, can Jozy show up for the U.S. MNT and be just as productive?
