Players That Impressed: ECNL Girls Phoenix National Event (Spring 2025)

The Spring 2025 ECNL Girls Phoenix National Event took place over the weekend, as college coaches lined the sidelines to watch one of the most competitive showcases of the season.

Elizabeth Arkus | Forward
FC Stars Blue 2010 (MA)
Terrorized opposing defenses all weekend long as FC Stars Blue 2010 swept their three opponents in the desert. Arkus scored in every game at the showcase, and did so in a variety of ways. She scored on a crafty left-footed strike which was perfectly placed inside the far post, and added a couple more goals as she beat the defense using her top-end speed and strength. Arkus will be a name for top college programs to watch form the Class of 2029.

Helped her Classics Elite 2011 team achieve another undefeated ECNL Showcase in Phoenix. Recorded 2 goals and 3 assists over the course of 3 games. She impressed at multiple positions, leading a highly-talented attacking unit.

FC Pride 2010 (IN)
The motor of the FC Pride 2010 offense, Henning recorded a brace as she contributed both goals during her team’s 2-1 victory over Mustang SC. She also tallied an assist off a corner kick against San Juan SC in a 1-1 draw in the tournament opener.

Arlington Soccer 2009 (VA)
Cancellare was a constant threat, putting pressure on the opposing defense and breaking lines at every opportunity. She led her team with 2 goals, 2 assists and drew a PK. She has a unique ability to finish when inside or outside the box, and can make great passes on the move in tight spaces.

Bay Area Surf 2009 (CA)
Shani impressed with 2 goals and 1 assist, playing a crucial role in the team’s attack. She also stood out with her impressive ball control, passing and positioning throughout the tournament.

Arya Pfeiffer | Midfielder
Slammers HB Koge 2010 (CA)
Arya was instrumental in Slammers HB Koge 2010’s undefeated weekend, as they went 2-0-1. Her tenacious defense kept the other teams on their heels, holding the opponents to one goal over three games. On the offensive side, Arya used her vision and passing abilities to help her team on the attack. As a key two-way contributor for one of the top teams in the country, she’s a Class of 2028 prospect with a bright future.

One of the nation’s premier prospects from the Class 2027, Leifried helped lead Bay Area Surf’s U17 squad to an unbeaten 2-0-1 record in Arizona. Leifried is a physically-imposing player who shines as a center attacking midfielder. The U17 USWNT roster pool member showcased her power and precision on a couple of thunderous strikes. Turned in a clean sheet during her playing time between the posts for the East Team in the ECNL National Selection Game on Friday night. McBride showed her toughness on set pieces and organizational skills during the victory.
Rudel put on a strong performance at the ECNL Phoenix National Event, making some impressive saves for Slammers HB Koge 2009 against tough competition. In a highlight reel moment, she came up with a huge diving stop against La Roca FC during a clean sheet effort. (WATCH)
Maintained continuous control over her side of the field with exceptional awareness and discipline. She consistently delivered clean, well-timed tackles and excelled in 1v1 situations, using her strength and composure to shut down attacking threats. Time and again, Malace delivered precise passes with remarkable accuracy, consistently finding her teammates even when she was under pressure, which set the tone for the team’s build-up plays.
Olivia delivered an outstanding performance in Phoenix, standing out with her speed, aggressive tackles, and exceptional 1v1 defending. Playing outside back for the victorious East team in the National Selection Game, she not only shut down top-tier opponents, but also made dynamic overlapping runs and crosses, proving to be a force on both ends of the field.

Sporting Blue Valley 08/09 (KS)
The ECNL All-Conference midfielder made her presence felt for Sporting Blue Valley during their solid run in Phoenix, as they won two out of three games in the 2008 age group. Crabtree had a high work rate all weekend long, connecting the defense with the offense and making some key passes leading to goals.

Peyton Gillis | Goalkeeper
KC Athletics 2009 (KS)
Gillis shared time in net with McBride for the East Team during their victorious effort in the ECNL National Selection Game on Friday night. She also shined in net the rest of the weekend with KC Athletics 2009, securing a pair of clean sheets. At 5′ 10″, Gillis has the size and the athleticism to excel at the next level.

Contributed to a pair of clean sheets during a weekend in which her Davis Legacy 2008 team had a perfect 3-0-0 showing. McLin and her teammates on the defensive side held their opponents to one total goal over the course of three games. (WATCH)

Oklahoma Energy FC 2008 (OK)
Showed why she’s earned a roster spot at Marquette for the Class of 2026 with her playmaking abilities on full display in Phoenix. Shaw came up big for Oklahoma Energy 2008 both as a scorer and as a passer during their 2-0 win over South Shore Select in the finale on Sunday. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Pateadores 2008 (CA)
Earned Player of the Match honors in the ECNL National Selection Game on Friday night, netting a brace for the East Team during their 3-1 victory. Williams scored on a long distance strike for her first goal, and added another exceptional individual effort on her second score to put the game away.
