UEFA Champions League: Tuesday is a can’t miss
By Roger Gonzalez
Soccer nuts live for days like these.
Today figures to be one of the top soccer days of the year in the professional ranks, with UEFA Champions League quarterfinals making fans around the world salivate.
High-flying Bayern Munich of Germany hosts Italian side Juventus in a tasty encounter at 2:45 p.m. ET (broadcast live on foxsoccer2go.com, re-airing on Fox Soccer at 5 p.m. ET), while David Beckham’s Paris Saint-Germain welcomes Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona at the same time (broadcast live on Fox Soccer and foxsoccer2go.com).
The only negative is that the games are at the same time. Double TVs anyone?
Bayern – Juventus
The Italians have lost just one game over the last two months, but the Germans have only fallen once since the turn of the year. This should be one of the tightest matches left in the competition.
Bayern will be desperate, having lost in the final twice in the last three years. Expect Juve to secure a quality result on the road.
Juve 1, Bayern 1
PSG – Barca
The Paris club is boosted by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s recent disciplinary ban being reduced from two games to one. Had it been kept at two, he would have missed this match.
Both teams are in first place in their leagues, like the other matchup, but it’s hard to see any team getting by Barca. English side Chelsea did it last year though, so why can’t PSG?
In the end, Messi, the world’s greatest player, shines.
Barca 3, PSG 1
