Chelsea FC 3v3 Youth Winter Cup

This exciting youth soccer tournament provides players with the opportunity to compete in a 3v3 format and receive feedback, game insights, and tips from professional coaches from the world-renowned Chelsea FC Academy in London, England.

The St. James’ Fieldhouse is a state-of-the-art, 110,000 square foot indoor turf facility that features the DC area’s only indoor, FIFA-regulation soccer pitch and can seat upwards of 2,000 spectators.

Format:

• Warm-Up and Activation Activities with Chelsea FC Coaches
• 8-minute matches with 2-minute breaks between games to transition to next match
• Teams will play a minimum of 6 games, with breaks scheduled to ensure that no team plays more than two games in a row.

Rosters:

• Minimum 3 players to create a team, maximum 5 players
• Teams with <4 players may be matched with a free-agent
• U7-U9 teams need to provide a parent coach/supervisor to monitor and coordinate subs
• U10+ will be player-led (no coaches/parents on the sidelines)

Registration:

• Individuals: Please register as a Free Agent. (You will be able to provide additional info to ensure your child is matched with his/her teammates when available.)
• Teams: If you have enough players to form a team (3-5), register in the appropriate division that corresponds with the birth year of the players. You will be asked to create a “group” including the names of your teammates.
  • If you are the first one registering your team, please select “I want to create a new team” and share your team name with your teammates, so they will know which team to look for when they register.
  • If you are joining an existing team, select “join existing team.”
• Competition Level:
  • Highly Competitive: Experience players that demonstrate advanced skills for their age group. Teams have played together for 2+ years.
  • Moderately Competitive: Players with some experience, most likely 1+ year of organized soccer above rec level.
  • Beginner Level: Beginner level teams and rec players who are learning and looking to enjoy the game in a low-pressure environment.

Additional Information:

• 1st and 2nd place in each division will receive Chelsea FC awards
• Each player will receive a branded tournament t-shirt to be used as the official team uniform for the event and take home afterwards.
• The official match schedule will be released closer to the start of the tournament.
